Experiential Based Learning (Train the Trainer Program)

Overview
Experiential Based Learning (EBL), though pragmatic in its wide ranging use of activities, tactics and approaches, nevertheless has identifiable, consistent principles that are part of a larger picture.

Our program is based on the belief that a key element of EBL is that learners analyse their experience by reflecting, evaluating and reconstructing it (sometimes individually, sometimes collectively, sometimes both) in order to draw meaning from it in the light of prior experience.

Approach
Prior to the workshop, a short survey will be administered to determine the participants learning style and motivation. A short 5 minute video clip of the respective participants conducting a training session will be sent to us for analysis.
During the program, participants will be put through some indoor activities. In each activity there will be briefing, planning, implementation and debriefing. The debriefing session will encompass:
           * Feelings
           * Lessons learnt
           * Desired application at the respective participants' organization.
 The session will be highly interactive. The facilitator will ensure that a learning environment will be created rather than a teaching one.
Through the use of experiential activities, case studies, lectures, demonstrations, video feedback during the program, the participants will discover the value, principles and concepts behind EBL.

Content
1.Theoretical perspectives – The conceptual framework for the key elements of the curriculum can be regarded as covering the feeling, the thinking and the doing dimensions of human experience. The structure is representative of the integrative and interactive structure underlying the EBL model of Dr. Rich Maizell. The three aspects of the human experience will be addressed by the curriculum which will act as a model for participants to emulate.
 2.  The bedrock: The foundation of experience counselling
The experience wave implies exciting and powerful activity. If that activity does not have informed support, it may be wasted and even destructive. Foundations and parameters are therefore important, so the activity can be prepared well, and controlled. Our attempt is to build a solid “bedrock” as the crucial first step in beginning to implement an Experiential Based Learning Program, and will go a      long way toward insuring the success of first attempts.
